One of the questions I get asked a lot, regarding WordPress, is how to prevent pages being added to the main menu automatically when a new page is created.

Now you may be asking why you would want to stop this. Isn’t this a handy feature to have, automatically adding them in for you so you don’t have to worry about it?

Well not really. Ideally you want to be able to control what gets added and the order they show up in. The best example of this is when creating opt-in offers. As part of the opt-in sequence you want to create a thank-you page, normally with a download link, that subscribers get sent to once they have given you their email address. Now you don’t want this to appear in the menu as that would defeat the purpose of the opt-in offer. This is where custom menus come in.

Todays post is super special as I am bringing you an easy to follow tutorial video, that will show you exactly how to setup and edit a custom menu. So lets get started.

Now you know how to create and edit your own custom menus, I’d love to hear from you. Please add your comments below if you have any questions or break-throughs.

Have fun,
